Learning@ Cisco Announces Release of CCNP Wireless Certification

This week at Cisco Live, the Learning@Cisco organization announced the release of CCNP? Wireless, the professional level certification for individuals interested in a career in Cisco Wireless technologies. Courses and exams for the CCNP Wireless certification will be made available on July 24th, 2009.

Properly trained and certified Wireless Professionals are needed to make wireless networks secure, cost-effective, and reliable. CCNP Wireless certification recognizes this, and acknowledges advanced level skills and knowledge in Cisco wireless networking. With a CCNP Wireless certification, network professionals can support enterprise wireless networks in site surveys, voice over wireless implementations, mobility services implementations, and wireless security services.

The CCNP Wireless certification is comprised of four professional level exams and recommended training courses that validate and recognize professional level wireless design expertise. Conducting Cisco Unified Wireless Site Survey (CUWSS), Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Voice Networks (IUWVN), Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Mobility Services (IUWMS), and Implementing Advanced Cisco Unified Wireless Security (IAUWS) are the recommended training courses for the CCNP Wireless certification. You must pass the required CUWSS (642-731), IUWVN (642-741), IUWMS (642-746), IAUWS (642-736) exams to achieve CCNP Wireless certification.

Formal prerequisites for the CCNP Wireless certification are CCNA (Routing & Switching) and CCNA Wireless.? In order to pass the CCNP Wireless exams an individual should have:

·???????? At least three to five years of job experience in network engineering

·???????? A thorough understanding of wireless networking principles

·???????? An in-depth understanding of the four courses

The CCNP Wireless certification emphasizes wireless networking principles and theory. It also recognizes the expertise and technical acumen of wireless professionals who can assess and translate network business requirements into technical specifications that in turn are incorporated into successful installations.
